During the summer my wife and I got to go on an amazing road trip in Norway with our good friends Samuel and Hildegunn Taipale. Norway is just amazing landscapes after amazing landscapes. Definitely a place worth visiting if you ever get the chance! Thanks to Visit Norway for making our trip possible.

Filmed on the Panasonic GH4, GoPro Hero 4 and Phantom 2 quadcopter. Edited in Premiere pro and colour graded in After effects using Vision Colors Impulz Luts.

Man! what an amazing country. I can't begin to describe how grand this landscape is. This video just doesn't do it justice in my opinion. The fiord systems around these Islands is everything you would hope for. I feel I have been spoilt forever after visiting this place. It's like a Milford Sound in New Zealand around every corner.

Good friend Rod Thomas is organising a tour here next February so if you have any desire to see a bit of whats in this video look him up atrodthomas.com.au

Everything was shot on Canon products. C300, 5Dmk3, all Canon lenses. It was a bit lonely out there with only a few Canon still shooters wandering around looking lost wondering why everyone else was shooting Nikon. Not a problem for me though.

The soundtrack was licensed from The Music Bed. Next time I pick a soundtrack I best do a search of how many times it has been used on Vimeo. I was thinking to myself, "I have heard this before somewhere?"

Sorry to all of those people who are sick of this score. It's still a great track though.

A timelaps movie of a great landmark of Norway.

Equipment:
Canon 5D mk III
Canon EF 24mm f/1.4 L II USM
Canon EF 24-105mm f/4 L
Canon EF 85mm f/1.2 L
Kenko NDX Filter
Fotopro MGA-584N Tripod

I love Norway. This timelapse film was shot at random between August 2014 and October 2015. Locations vary from Rjukan and Gaustadtoppen in the south to the Lofoten and Senja islands in the north. The opening shot is from the top of Holmenkollen ski-jumping arena in Oslo. I use Kessler Crane motion control sliders with the second shooter 3 axis for most shots. This gives me the opportunity to repeat programmed shots of the same view at different times, which i then blend in post to get nice transitions from day to night in one move.

This is a time lapse, or a time travel of the breathtaking and scenic Arctic Norway by the photographer Fatih M Sahbaz. Behind the video there are tens of thousands of shots that were made over a course of a 4-month-travel in different parts of the North Norway. Mainly Nordland and highlighting the wonderful Lofoten Islands.

Some pix of my last road trip in Norway. I experienced the slomotion mode with 1080/50i FX, but the quality is not what i expected. Anyway, the landscape is really amazing ... you will forget the quality ;)

Some of these moves are made on ferrys - you can see the vibrations of the engine. The other moves (don't laugh) are made with the tripod on the co-driver's seat. :) At the same time i used the "smooth slow rec" mode ... it records with fourfold speed and higher compression. But you need planar roads.
